Based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers, this final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein became one of the world's most well-known and beloved musicals of all time. The story of how Maria, an exuberant postulant, wins the hearts of the stern widowed naval Captain von Trapp and his seven children and their flight over the mountains to Switzerland to escape capture by the Nazis on the eve of World War II is brought to life through many of your favorite songs including the title song "The Sound of Music", "Edelweiss", "My Favorite Things", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" and "Do-Re-Mi".
