Crowded Kitchen Players will present the classic black comedy about American politics, "The Manchurian Candidate," Feb. 27-March 15 at McCoole's Arts & Events Place, 10 S. Main St. Quakertown.
Written by John Lahr (adapted from the novel by Richard Condon,) "The Manchurian Candidate" has been called everything from a black comedy to a war story to a psychological thriller. It is the story of Raymond Shaw, a former P.O.W. and decorated war hero, who may also be a brain-washed assassin on a secret mission to overthrow the United States government.
The Crowded Kitchen Players cast, directed by Ara Barlieb includes; Pamela Wallace, David "OZ" Oswald, Tom Harrison, Jack McGavin, Jacob Woodard, Sydney Davis, Nancy Mikkelsen, Scott Van Nortwick, Devon Shelly, Donald M. Swan, Jr., Paula Klein, Tovah Karl & Christina DeFrancesco.

Audition information:
Crowded Kitchen Players will hold auditions for "The Manchurian Candidate" by John Lahr (from the novel by Richard Condon) on Monday Jan. 5th & Wednesday Jan. 7th from 7:00 to 8:30pm at McCoole's Arts & Events Place, 10 S. Main Street, Quakertown. "A wildly preposterous and screaming ride involving a brain-washed assassin and a scheme to make the world completely dependent on the United States for its oil by nuking the Middle East." This is an ensemble production; all cast members will be asked to play multiple roles. Need are 9 men & 5 women, 18 & older. No appointment or prepared piece is necessary; there will be cold readings from the script. The play will be performed Feb. 27 - Mar. 15 at McCoole's Arts & Events Place. Also needed are a stage manager, costumer, set construction assistance, sound tech, lighting tech and box office help.
