The Chapel Street Players opens the 76th season with Peter Schaffer’s Theatrical powerhouse, “Amadeus.” This critically acclaimed play moves through time from 1823 back to the 1780’s as the audience bears witness to (and becomes part of) the retelling of the story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart by the court composer Antonio Salieri. The tale explores the depths of human passion, lust, greed, and Salieri’s internal battle with God and, in the end, the audience must decide: did the musical genius Mozart die of natural causes or at the hand of a jealous rival?
