In a desperate attempt to win his freedom, the slave, Pseudolus, attempts to help his young master, Hero, earn the love of a courtesan, Philia. Meanwhile, Pseudolus has to outsmart Hero's parents, the slave-master, Lycus, nd the large man that has already paid for Philia, Miles Gloriosus. Also, an old man Erronious is desperately searching for his lost children. In the end, it turns out that Philia and Miles are brother and sister and the children of Erronious. Further, Philia is now allowed to marry Hero and Pseudolus gains his freedom.

Audition information:
The auditions will consist of cold reading from the script, dance and singing. There will be required music for each character. Please download the music or contact the director for it, no other auditioning songs will be permitted. Please come prepared to dance with dance shoes and dance attire, no sweat suits. Girls auditioning for the courtesans must be in dance clothes and have jazz, and/or ballet shoes.

He must be an accomplished physical actor with a quick sense of spontaneous creativity while staying in character. Must be able to move well to music, and be capable of physical comedy. Physical stunts will be involved. Dance training in jazz and soft shoe would be nice, but not necessary. |

| 1 part | A Citizen of Rome, Hero's father, Domina's husband. In his mind he is master of all in his household, a great lover, the man every young woman longs for; in reality... not so much. | 1 part | The not so calm chief slave of the household of Senex and Domina. He is the chief foil of Pseudolus and nearly becomes the victim of a pyre fire. | 1 part | The greatest of all Roman soldiers, just ask him. He has come to claim his bride, Philia, recently purchased from Marcus Lycus. Some movement to music involved in the Prologue. |
| The Proteans | male | 18-99 | baritone | requires physical comedy | acrobat | 3 parts | Three men who portray several characters each; a eunuch, a Roman citizen, a soldier, and a slave. The most physically demanding of all male roles. Many stunts, dance movements are planned. Gymnastics training and dance training would be a plus. |

| 1 part | A cameo role for a tired, near sighted, old Roman citizen, hunting for his children who had been stolen by pirates. Movement to music in the Prologue and Final Ultimo. |

| 1 part | A young, virgin, courtesan of Marcus Lycus in love with Hero, but the property of Miles Gloriosus. A young woman who has the gift of great beauty, but is a little on the slow side. Movement to music in the Prologue and Final Ultimo. There is not a large dance component to the role. |

| 1 part | Senex's wife, Hero's mother, and the woman every man in the show fears. She, of course, believes it all to be his fault. Some physical comedy and stunts involved in the chase scene. Movement to music in the Prologue and Final Ultimo. |
| The Courtesans | female | 18-50 | soprano | requires physical comedy | dancer (theater) dancer (ballet) dancer (jazz) | 6 parts | Six beautiful young women. Two of whom must pass for twins, and one of whom must be a tall, man annihilating, Greek Amazon who captures the heart of Pseudolus. All six of these girls must be excellent dancers. Training in ballet, and jazz is strongly recommended. Each of the Courtesans develops and expresses her character through a dance solo. Physical comedy and stunts with the Proteans through out the show. The mature nature of the roles mandates that all must be at least 18 years old. |
