Every mystery fan knows a "red herring" is the writer's device to throw you off track. But in this spoof of the 1950s film noir, sometimes a herring is a herring and a Red is a Soviet spy. Philadelphia playwright Michael Hollinger deftly intertwines the stories of a corpse in Boston Harbor, an FBI detective, a Soviet spy, and Joe McCarthy's daughter as they search for love and atomic secrets. The Philadelphia Inquirer called this play "A genuinely human comedy about six people in search of love in a mixed up world
. a thoroughly engaging piece of theatre."
